Most Hospitable Family-Run Adventures Company 2024.
We are a small family-run outdoor activity provider. We specialise in small groups having great fun, safely, in the Highlands of Scotland. Monster activities have been operating since 1995. The owner Iain Mackinnon has a degree in outdoor activities and has been an instructor for over 30 years. He is also an NHS support worker and takes the threat of Covid19 very seriously. We ask you to follow current guidelines on keeping us all safe.
Monster Activities is based in Fort Augustus at the Highland Club.
Loch Ness runs from Inverness to Fort Augustus, where it joins the Caledonian Canal through a series of lock gates that are located in the center of the village. The village has a number of lively pubs and good restaurants.
The Great Glen continues past the River Garry and Loch Oich to the mighty Loch Lochy and on to Fort William.
For scenery, nearby Loch Garry (loch shaped like Scotland), Nevis Range cable car and Glencoe provide spectacular highland scenery at its best. If you wish to travel slightly further afield the beautiful island of Skye is within a day-trip.
By Car we are 2 ½ hours from Glasgow and 3 hours from Edinburgh. The drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh is very scenic. Flights and trains from London and elsewhere in the UK to Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow are readily available at reasonable cost.
